Ashley McIsaac is a practicing fine artist residing in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada with her husband Jason and their cat Arthur. Raised in Camrose, Alberta, she was introduced to a mixture of art and crafts at a young age through her mother and grandmother, continuing into her teens with high school art classes. Creating has always served as a healing outlet for Ashley, using art for self expression and as a vital tool for coping with mental illness. The artist continues her art practice through a mixture of self direction and attending local art classes for lifelong learning and dabbling into a variety of media. You will also find Ashley teaching local art classes for seniors to help share the healing effect that art can have on everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, faith, etc.
Drawing inspiration from music, literature, people and personal life experiences, Ashley creates expressive paintings in a variety of styles. Movement and energy are experienced in her acrylic and mixed media work through brush strokes, diverse colour palettes and the use of physical textures for depth and/or contrast. In addition to gallery and commissioned paintings, the artist offers limited series pieces and other fine art when the inspiration arises. You will currently find Ashley experimenting with miniature art and watercolours.
